Fontainebleau Casino Luxury Watch Thefts Lead to Four Arrests
Recently, four suspects were arrested following a police inquiry into the theft of two expensive watches at Club LIV in the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
One of the timepieces was recognized as a $400K Richard Mille watch. The other one is a Richard Mille worth $120K.
The initial theft occurred on August 17. The individual, known as Ye Zaw, entered a restroom within the nightclub. As he left the restroom, multiple individuals shoved and collided with him, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Eventually, he discovered that his watch was gone.
On September 15, the identical individuals encircled Roman Loyfenfeld while he was dancing at the club. After a brief altercation, he soon discovered that the luxury watch on his wrist was missing.
In both cases, officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) examined surveillance footage to help identify the suspects.
As reported by Las Vegas TV station KLAS, the suspects were observed observing the targeted victims, diverting their attention, and then seemingly taking the watches.
Face Recognition Technology
On November 22, security personnel at Fontainebleau identified the same individuals at the resort-casino. According to KLAS, facial recognition technology was used to identify them.
They were charged at the Clark County Detention Center with grand theft and conspiracy to commit grand theft.
The police identified the suspects as Milton Castillo Martinez, Laura Vargas, Briyith Munoz, and Johan Hernandez.
They are set to appear in the local court on January 22. If found guilty, they might receive prison terms.
Organizing, Management
According to local police, both incidents were premeditated thefts.
"They showed clear planning and coordination, by surrounding their victims and creating a diversion or friction with their bodies to distract the victim from the watches being taken off their wrist,” according to a LVMPD arrest report quoted by the Review-Journal.
A representative from Fontainebleau informed the news source last week that “the safety and security of our guests and members is our top priority.”
Rolex Burglary
Last month, a well-known sex worker was also apprehended after she reportedly took a luxury watch from an unidentified man residing at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
Koncina Brisbon, 30, allegedly encountered the man at the Bleau Bar in the hotel on May 19. She took a seat close to him, teased, and made contact. An hour later, while he was distracted, she added something to his drink, according to the police.
Soon after, the man and Brisbon approached the hotel's front desk, where he signed up for an additional room.
The couple ascended the staircase while grasping each other's hands. They shared a kiss in the elevator, and hours later the man awoke in the second room to discover Brisbon was missing. His Rolex watch valued at $125K, $2,000 in cash, and $500 in casino chips were also missing.
