DraftKings Top-Rated Sports Betting App, Caesars Rising

In a survey by Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG), DraftKings was once more the top-rated mobile application for online sports betting (OSB).

The research company has just published its OSB app rankings for the initial half of 2025, where DraftKings secured the leading position for the second time in a row. EKG indicates that DraftKings not only achieved that goal, but it also managed to slightly widen its advantage over competitor FanDuel. FanDuel, a subsidiary of Flutter Entertainment, and DraftKings dominate the online sports betting market in the US.

"The app delivers an exceptional UX, deep markets, and a comprehensive feature set. The only real nitpicking from testers was occasionally glitchy live streaming and holes in cash-out availability,” said EKG with regards to the DraftKings app.

Achieving a high score in the EKG survey benefits operators as numerous polls and studies indicate that bettors value user-friendliness and technology when choosing sportsbook apps and determining their loyalty to those platforms.

A Caesars Revelation

Caesars Entertainment's Caesars Sportsbook lags behind FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM in market share; however, it is increasing its presence in the iGaming sector and is advancing technologically in sports betting.

“Caesars Sportsbook has achieved its highest-ever rank in our OSB report, landing in 5th place,” adds EKG. “Its attractive, functional UX and intuitive Betting Interface—now with improved market depth—had long hovered just outside the top five and has finally broken through.”

The advancement in the EKG survey arrives as Caesars Digital is growing more profitable, and the future of the business is frequently debated since analysts, investors, and management think the online division's achievements aren't properly represented in the stock price.

Discussions have emerged about a possible spin-off of Caesars Digital, and management has indicated its willingness to explore options for that division if it could create value for shareholders.

Enhancing, Requires Enhancement

Among various operators advancing in the EKG survey, Fanatics remains notably impressive. It held onto the third position in the first half of 2025 survey after finishing there in the second half of 2024 version. That occurred after finishing sixth during the initial six months of the previous year.

The research company indicates that Fanatics, a relatively new player in the US OSB market, follows the DraftKings and FanDuel apps by narrow margins and poses a legitimate challenge to rise to the leading position in upcoming iterations of the survey. On the opposite side of the ledge, EKG stated that BetMGM has tasks to complete.

“BetMGM has long struggled with speed, but beneath those issues lies a strong OSB app. Addressing load times and lag would significantly elevate the experience, as slow responsiveness often makes a meaningful impact on testers’ perception of the overall product,” according to the research firm. “With better speed—and a slightly improved feature set—BetMGM could prove a force to be reckoned with.”
